At present Uday Memorial B. Ed. college is offering two courses

  • Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.). The minimum educational qualification required for admission to B. Ed. course is Bachelor’s/Master Degree or equivalent with 50% Marks.
  •  Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.). The minimum educational qualification required for admission to D. El. Ed. course is Intermediate/+2 or equivalent with 50% Marks.

About B. Ed. and D. El. Ed.

Teachers play a very important role in a student’s life. To a great extent, it is the teacher who decides the shape of a student’s life. So, it is very necessary to be adequately equipped with resources that will make the teacher a perfect role model for the students. To achieve this, Bachelor Degree in Education or B. Ed. and Diploma in Elementary Education or D. El. Ed. was introduced, which will teach a person about teaching and the various aspects associated with teaching. Ones a person complete the Bachelor Degree in Education (B. Ed.) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.) training, and then he is awarded with a B. Ed. degree or D. El Ed. degree respectively.

Courses Details

The Bachelor of Education Programme, generally known as B. Ed., is a professional courses offered for those who are interested in pursuing career in teaching & prepares teaching for upper primary or middle level (classes VI-VIII), secondary (classes IX-X) and senior secondary (classes XI-XII) levels.

The Diploma in Elementary Education Programme, generally known as D. El. Ed., is a professional courses offered for those who are interested in pursuing career in teaching & prepares teaching for primary or middle level (classes I-V) levels.

Working Days

There shall be at least two hundred working days each year exclusive of the period of examination and admission. The institution shall work for a minimum of thirty six hours in a week, during which physical presence in the institution of all the teachers and student teachers is necessary to ensure their availability for advice, guidance, dialogue and consultation as and when needed. The minimum attendance of student-teachers shall have to be 80% for all course work and practicum and 90% for school internship.

Intake

There shall be a basic unit of 50 students, with a maximum of two units. There shall not be more than twenty five students per teacher for a school subject for methods courses and other practical activities of the programme to facilitate participatory teaching and learning.

Only 100 students will be admitted in one academic year. Reservation policy of the Government of Jharkhand given below will be followed:

Eligibility

Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s/Master Degree or equivalent for B. Ed. and 50% marks in the Intermediate/+2 and equivalent for D. El. Ed.

The reservation and relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government/State Government, whichever is applicable.
